PGT-SR

PGT (Preimplantation Genetic Testing)

Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) is a state-of-the-art technique used during in vitro fertilization (IVF) to screen embryos for genetic abnormalities before implantation. This advanced testing helps identify embryos with the highest potential for a successful pregnancy and healthy baby, giving you the best start on your journey to parenthood.

PGT-SR (Preimplantation Genetic Testing For Structural Rearrangements)

Identifies structural chromosomal abnormalities, such as translocations or inversions, that can impact fertility or lead to genetic disorders.

This Procedure Is Offered To

  1. couples undergoing IVF who are at increased risk for aneuploidy
    • Maternal age >35 years
    • History of previous pregnancy with trisomy
  2. Patients with recurrent pregnancy loss.
    • PGT helps to achieve pregnancy in a short period of  time by transferring genetically normal embryos
  3. Prior failed IVF cycles
    • For patients who have experienced more than three failed embryo transfers with high-quality, morphologically normal embryos, PGT may be considered.
  4. Requesting PGD for HLA typing
    • To select embryos that are compatible with living siblings, PGD can be used to match histocompatibility for potential stem cell donation or other medical purposes.
